Raw Material Rubber

Rubber is a natural polymer that is derived from the sap of rubber trees, primarily Hevea brasiliensis, which is native to South America. The sap, called latex, is collected by making incisions in the bark of the tree and allowing the sap to flow into cups.

The raw rubber is then processed to remove impurities and make it suitable for use in various products. The process includes:

1. Coagulation: The latex is mixed with an acid to cause it to coagulate, forming a rubber curd.
2. Centrifugation: The rubber curd is put into a centrifuge to separate the rubber from the water and other impurities.
3. Drying: The rubber is then dried to remove any remaining moisture.
4. Smoked sheeting: The rubber is then pressed into sheets and hung in a smokehouse to cure and harden the rubber.

The rubber sheets can then be further processed to create different forms of rubber such as crepe rubber, block rubber, and skim rubber. These different forms of rubber are used in a wide range of products, including tires, rubber bands, hoses, and seals.
